Some shifts on the platform require you to have a comprehensive background check badge prior to applying.
When you apply for a shift that requires the comprehensive background check badge, you will be prompted to complete a background check if you haven't already. This will be through a pop-up on the app that will allow you to complete the background check through Turn.
There is no exact timeframe for when it will be completed. Since this is done by a third-party company (Turn), we are unable to speed up the process.
You will be notified by Turn via email when the background check is complete. Even though the background check may have been completed, Upshift still needs to process it, which may take additional time. You will be notified via text and email when you receive the comprehensive background check badge on your account.
If you have applied for a background check and haven't received the badge yet, you will be unable to see any shifts that require the comprehensive background check on the Upshift app.
There are two different background checks that our businesses may require. They are as follows:
Comprehensive Background Check: This is the most common type of background check that our businesses require. This includes the review of criminal records, public records, and court records. This is a one-time fee of $15 and they will submit for one when they apply for a shift that requires one.
FACIS: is a $10 one-time fee that identifies any wrong actions of individuals and entities in the healthcare field.
Please note that these two checks are not interchangeable, but once you have received the badge(s), you will not need to undergo these checks again.
