Upshift Gamification aims to recognize and reward your skills through special badges, ranging from level 1 to level 5, based on your proficiency in specific work categories.
The gamification system adds an element of fun and motivation to your Upshift experience, offering a dynamic way to track your achievements and stand out as a top-tier worker within the platform.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does the Gamification System work within the Upshift app?
As you complete challenges, you earn badges that are displayed on your Upshifter profile. These badges signify your achievements and skills in various roles on the platform. The more shifts you work in a specific role, the higher your total shifts count for that position, contributing to the progression of your badges from level 1 to level 5.
For example, if you consistently work additional shifts in a particular role, you'll not only accumulate more badges but also increase your skill level in that specific position. The ultimate goal is to reach the highest skill level (level 5) for each role, showcasing your expertise and dedication.
What other types of challenges will be available?
From time to time new challenges will be introduced. For example, timed challenges are challenges where a certain amount of shifts need to be completed within a set time frame. Completing this challenge successfully will earn you a badge.
Is the gamification system available for all roles and positions on the Upshift platform?
The Top 10 positions posted on the platform will be used in challenges with multi-level achievements:
Dishwasher/Kitchen Steward
Line Cook/Prep Cook
Server/Banquet Server
Busser
Attendant
Housekeeper
Cashier
Food Service
Warehouse Associate
Event Set Up/Houseman
Will shifts completed before the Gamification launch be included in earned badges?
Yes! Any previously worked shifts in a category where badges are given will be applied and if any badges are already earned they will be assigned automatically.
How does the badge level increase for a specific role?
Reaching specific milestones for each position will unlock a new level.
Level 1 - earned after 5 shifts
Level 2 - earned after 25 shifts
Level 3 - earned after 75 shifts
Level 4 - earned after 150 shifts
Level 5 - earned after 250 shifts
What benefits do Upshifters gain from earning badges and completing challenges?
Aside from personal gratification and being able to track and view your achievements, businesses will be available to view your skill-based badges. They may decide to select you over other candidates if they see you have a high skill level in the position in question,
Can other Upshifters see my badges?
No. Skill-based badges will only be visible to you and the business. Badges received for challenges that are not skill-based will only be viewable by the Upshifter who earned them.
Can Upshifters lose badges or levels?
Only badges issued for certifications or background checks can expire or be removed if deemed necessary. Badges earned via the Gamification system will not be removed.
How frequently will new challenges be introduced?
New challenges will be announced periodically. They will be announced via the Upshift app when they become available.
Are there time limits for completing challenges or reaching higher badge levels?
There is no time limit for earning skill-based challenges. There may be additional timed-based challenges, but these are separate from the skill-based challenges previously mentioned.
