How to Clock in and Out

You should try to arrive at your shift around 15 minutes before the posted start time to make sure you are not late. Once you arrive onsite, you should check in with the onsite manager and make sure to ask if they have any onsite timesheets or time-tracking software that you should clock in with. If they do then make sure to do so! If you do not use the client's timekeeping method your pay may be delayed.

CLOCKING IN:

One hour before your shift begins, you will receive a reminder to make sure you clock in via the Upshift app. When you are about to start working, access the shift under the Active tab on the Upshift app or under the My Shifts section. Once you have selected the shift, click the blue clock-in button. After you clock in, the red clock-out button will appear which you should click when you are done working.

CLOCK OUT:

You should clock out once you stop working and your supervisor informs you that the shift is done. Sometimes shift supervisors will ask you to stay past the designated end time of a shift. You have the right to refuse and clock out or stay on the clock and continue to work till the new agreed-upon end time.

Please keep in mind that if you clock out after you stop working you may receive disciplinary action from one to three strikes. You can avoid this by letting us know of the mistake within 12 hours of the incorrect clock-out time.

If you clock in/out incorrectly or are unable to clock in/out for a shift, make sure to contact us immediately after the shift ends with the correct clock-in/out time. Failure to do so may result in payroll delays and/or disciplinary action. You are responsible for providing us with your correct clock in/out times based on hours worked.

*Please note that you do not clock in/out for breaks. Any unpaid breaks listed in the shift details will automatically be deducted at the end of the shift.

GEOFENCING:

Some businesses may require you to be at the job site to clock in and out. Please make sure to clock in right before you begin working and clock out right out when you finish working in order to avoid timesheet issues in the future.
